This part-time course is suitable for people working in areas such as • rehabilitation • occupational health • human resources • employment • disability services.
It focuses on vocational rehabilitation for people employed in agencies and services who help individuals, including those with disabilities, to gain or retain employment.
This course allows you to develop a programme of study to meet your personal and professional needs.
You examine the current political and sociological context of employment for people with illness, injury or disabilities and the barriers they face. You also develop practical skills and interventions to improve your current practice.
You can take any module individually for continuing professional development. Alternatively, you can work towards a named award by taking the appropriate number of credits on a specified route. This may be a postgraduate certificate, a postgraduate diploma or a masters degree.
This course improves your ability to learn and collaborate effectively in practice, to provide a co-ordinated service that meets the identified employment needs of individuals.
Your research skills are developed during the course enabling you to complete a research project relevant to your area of work. This improves your knowledge and functional and intellectual capacity in a specialist area.
Attendance
Part-time – usually over Friday and Saturday depending on modules selected.
